The Danish city of Aarhus is already home to quite a few notable, interesting and unique architectural projects, but few of them are as thoughtfully designed and well executed in both aesthetic style and civic function as the La Tour apartment tower complex.
The challenge will building the La Tour tower was the fact that the site was located near a historic brick tower. Therefore architects 3XN went about coming with a curving design that ensures that the famous landmark does not physically or visually get eclipsed. This curving form has used by 3XN before and has become something of a signature design language.
Ultimately, this apartment tower project goes to prove that modern architectural projects can certainly be designed in a manner that is respectful of legacy architecture in the vicinity.
