AI-Designed 3D-Printed Rocket Engines

Hyperganic Debuts a Rocket Engine That is Continuous

Hyperganic—which is a software company based in Germany—has debuted a 3D-printed rocket engine that is designed by artificial intelligence. The innovation is ground-breaking and it boasts an entirely new take on the traditional design. While usually, the rocket engine “consists of individually designed parts that are combined together,” this one is presented as one continuous piece. This format is said to enhance performance.

Hyperganic’s AI-designed 3d-printed rocket engine is lightweight and designed to have the “most effective cooling” it can possibly have. The design process started with a rocket scientist who “stipulated the core features.” The information was expressed as formulas and stored in an Excel sheet. Thereafter, the artificial intelligence algorithm used the data and began generating the form of the 3d-printed rocket engine.
