Uber is taking part in the growing rapid grocery delivery service with the launch of a new 15-minute grocery service. The new service will be available in Paris and was made possible thanks to a partnership with French retailer Carrefour. The service relies on "dark stores" -- small warehouses where employees pick and pack items for delivery. The new feature follows the heels of other rapid delivery services available across Europe that allow users to quickly receive their goods.
“Over the past 18 months people have increasingly come to expect quick and reliable delivery of everyday essentials to their doorsteps,” said Eve Henrikson, regional general manager of Uber Delivery EMEA. “In Europe alone we’ve seen a triple-digit increase in demand for grocery delivery.”
