From Fast Food Packaging to Transparent Chocolate Packs

Transparent food packaging has two functions -- to show off food that may be visually appealing, or to create a feeling among consumers (whether illusory or not), that the food in question is healthy due to its transparent design. With transparency in design often being equated with transparency in food-production processes, brands are able to use this phenomenon to their advantage.

One such example of this is the Brazilian fast food chain Sucao, which offers its food products in transparent packs, bottles and cups. This works to ensure that consumers are given the impression that the brand's food is as healthy as it claims to be, and puts consumers at ease with its deli-like appearance.

In terms of using food's visual design to its advantage by using transparent packaging, the Polish chocolate brand 'Full of Flavor' is an excellent example of this. The chocolate bars come with transparent panels in various shapes that show off the many toppings the desserts feature.
