25 Social Entrepreneurs Influenced by Sound

From A Tribe Called Quest to Writing Their Own Lyrics

— June 28, 2013 — Social Good
SocialBusiness.org has done numerous interviews with founders and CEOs of start-up social enterprises and non-profit hybrid organizations but this list of social entrepreneurs influenced by sound shows perhaps some of the less obvious inspirations. It is typically no surprise when someone in the field says they look up to Blake Mycoskie because of the work he's done with TOMS Shoes. (We've interviewed him as well!)

All the same, it's more interesting when people cite what they're dancing to. The founder of the Canadian company Social Focus Consulting, John Paul de Silva said, among other things, he likes listening to music by A Tribe Called Quest in order to to push him along. Other social entrepreneurs influenced by sound cite various genres.
