From Drink Coaster Phone Cases to Cocktail Card Games

Alcohol brands are reinvigorating the social scene with drinking accessories designed to help people put down their phones and reconnect face-to-face. Through cleverly designed accessories, they’re encouraging moments of real connection in a world that’s chronically online. Captain Morgan, for example, created a phone case that doubles as a drink coaster. Similarly, The Flipper by Heineken is a phone case that turns itself over when it hears “cheers” to help drinkers resist the pull to pick up their phone and scan notifications.
All the while, brands aren’t ignoring the reality that many adults feel awkward or anxious without their devices; instead, they’re leaning into it, creating supportive, playful ways to ease the transition from doom-scrolling to authentic human interactions.
