Beer Preference Test Kits

The Heineken Choice Uses Science to Decipher Beer Preferences

Heineken Silver is a beer that was created to be smoother, lighter and less bitter than its original counterpart and to determine which one people might prefer more, The Heineken Choice was created. Heineken developed this test kit with geneticist Andrew Shelling, a professor at the University of Auckland, and it classifies beer drinkers as a non-taster, a taster or a supertaster.

This kit includes a testing strip that's meant to be placed on the tongue for 15 seconds. Those who taste nothing will likely be fans of the original Heineken beer, while those who experience a bitter taste will be better off enjoying Heineken Silver. According to Shelling, humans are "genetically hardwired to detect bitterness" and this test kit uses science to align people with a drink they're more likely to enjoy.
