I moved to Denver, Colorado in July 2010 and originally grew up in Chicago, Illinois. It's a HUGE change and I LOVE it!

I am curious, friendly, observant and creative. I read A LOT, and want a dog.

I love trends. I want to know why people gravitate towards different things, and why some do so in mass quantities. I want to know how trends start, and where and why they end, or return. I want to know why people buy what they buy.

Graduated with a BA in English & Creative Writing.

“I will never be the woman with the perfect hair, who can wear white and not spill on it.”
- Sex and The City-
What is unique that's not in your bio?
It's my secret. "Everything can be taken from a man but… the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's own attitude in any given set of circumstances - to choose one's own way." -Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning-
What's your favorite accomplishment?
I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing. I'm living proof that you can major in the program that will make you happiest and find a job that will be fulfilling. Writing Portfolio - Still in progress.
How do you define cool?
Innovative. Curious. Open-minded. Optimistic. Comfortable with one's self.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
Observe. Listen. Be curious. Ask questions. People love talking about themselves. Always look from other points of view. Don't make assumptions. Live in the moment. Try new things. Break your habits but keep doing things you love.
What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?
I would not have known about many of the ideas, people and companies featured without TrendHunter. It brings people who would otherwise be over looked into the spotlight. I also love the idea that this is a type of news reporting done by everyday people who just want a say or contribution. It isn't top-down reporting and there is never one opinion or point-of-view.
What is your favorite trend?
Can't pick one.
What are your tips for writing a juicy post?
Go beyond the "Who, what, where, when, why and how?" of normal journalism. Offer a perspective, or many perspectives. Allow room for observation and commentary. DO NOT STEAL IDEAS. If you see a trend that spins off of an already posted similar trend, simply add a link or comment on that person's page so that they might see the new information you found. You should share your find without stealing.
How do you reset to be creative?
I go for a walk every morning and at lunch. If I don't I lose focus for the whole afternoon. Walk outside near anything alive. Get some fresh air, even in the rain. Switch it up: walk around the city in different areas. Read.
What inspires or excites you?
The opportunity/ability to create and choose, though it is sometimes paralyzing, wakes me up in the morning. Opportunity is exhilarating if you embrace it. Optimism. Anyone who is ambitious and humble, open-minded but aware of their own tastes, happy because they make themselves so but considerate and caring of others.
Predict something awesome for 2020?
People will realize that, even though it's an interesting idea, the world actually isn't going to end in 2012.
