I'm a graduate of Western University's Master of Arts in Journalism program who moved to Toronto to see what all the fuss was about.
I like reading fiction, writing non-fiction, listening to podcasts while wandering around Little Portugal, and drinking moderately priced beer paired with deep fried pickles.

What is unique that's not in your bio?
I spent my formative years in the majestic province of Saskatchewan. It's the one between Alberta and Manitoba on the map.
What's your favorite accomplishment?
Earning my Masters degree in Journalism.
How do you define cool?
Cool to me is trying something new and being confident while you do it. It doesn't necessarily have to work, but the important thing is that you tried.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
Be like Columbo. Ask questions and then ask even more questions. Don't be afraid to keep learning about something even if it seems like you've covered everything.
What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?
How easy it is to find similar topics and learn more about an area or subject that interests you. It can really feel like falling down a rabbit hole.
What is your favorite trend?
Anything clothing related, because it can range from the really elegant and understated to the absolutely ridiculous.
What are your tips for writing a juicy post?
Don't be afraid to have some fun with your writing because it doesn't just have to be the bare bone facts of the subject. Get a little sassy and see what happens.
How do you reset to be creative?
I think it's always a good idea to just step away from the computer for a bit. Go for a walk, read a book, listen to some music, learn a new language, start a revolution and overthrow your capitalist overlords. Admittedly, some of these tasks are easier than others, but just remember that God hates a coward.
Predict something awesome for 2020?
I assume by 2020 we'll all be at the mercy of our robot overlords. If you're already a robot this will be very good news for you. For the rest of us, I would suggest just trying to keep a positive attitude about the whole thing.
