Uchronia Designs a New Opulent Apartment in Paris

Local design studio Uchronia designs a new apartment located in Paris for two jewelry designers. It is found in the city's Avenue Montaigne and the space takes up one story in total within a building that was originally a part of the George-Eugene Haussmann's reconstruction of the French capital during the mid-19th century. The studio retained the apartment's original boiserie, flooring, tall ceilings, and much more to honor the era.

The main focus of the design approach was to add bright and textured looks that are meant to emulate the jewelry pieces. Founder and architect of the studio Julien Sebban notes "The space had great bones – a classical Haussmanian layout. That being said, it felt cold, pretentious and beige. For a change, we avoided structural work and focussed on the decoration."
