Loreta Bilinskaite-Monie Designs the Tirhal Collection

Lithuanian-born textile designer Loreta Bilinskaite-Monie creates the new Tirhal collection for Al Ghadeer Emirati Crafts. The collection is launching for the first time beyond the United Arab Emirates and delivers a modern iteration of traditional Emirati design. The word 'Tirhal' means 'journey' and it is meant to take those through a celebration of its ancient tribal roots to today's society.

It features the works of 16 Bedouin women who took part in the Al Ghadeer Emirate Crafts program, creating pieces by hand using sustainable materials. Loreta Bilinskaite-Monie notes, "This design is a homage to the traditional life of Bedouin women – its authenticity and sustainability.
