The architectural firm Bruzkus Greenberg has completed the redesign of a compact, seventy-five square meter rooftop residence located in Berlin. As part of this project, the designers centered the spatial reorganization around the blue millwork box — "a new core, allowing light, air, and space to flow around it and unify the space."
In order to execute the blue-accented vision for the rooftop residence, Bruzkus Greenberg removed existing partition walls to unify the living area and introduced the custom millwork — referred to as "the blue box" — which consolidated an entryway, seating, and storage while discreetly screening a staircase leading to an outdoor terrace. A full-height mirrored storage unit was included to amplify the sense of space, and a retractable curtain was also installed to separate the sleeping area.
