Swedish architectural team Claesson Koivisto Rune embraces contemporary Nordic chair designs in the 822 collection, a recently launched seating capsule. Composed of seating silhouettes that are playful and interesting, design objects in 822 are completed for the Czech furniture brand TON.
When coming up with the pieces for the 822 collection, Claesson Koivisto Rune took inspiration from the A811 chair which was designed by Austrian architect Josef Hoffmann in 1930. Starting off with a relatively nostalgic design sensibility, the Swedish studio maintained "the iconic and sturdy bentwood" (which was prominent in Hoffmann's design) and incorporated it into its contemporary seating silhouettes. The practice took creative liberties with the woven seat and backrest by reimagining them.
