Australian architect Jakob Sprenger works with designer Antonia Crespi to renovate the restaurant in a boutique hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland. The changes are rooted in the addition of bespoke furniture and fittings throughout with a goal of creating a modern design rooted in the area's Alpine heritage.
Sprenger adds, "Our aim was to consider every detail of the design to evoke the unique spirit of Gstaad." The Monti restaurant is a fine dining experience and it is now detailed with banquettes seats upholstered with mohair textures. The chairs are also perched carefully on top of skis which are carved by hand -- this is a playful nod to the reference of its alpine background in the city.
