Parts and Labor Design, also known as PLD is a multidisciplinary design practice based in New York and it has been tasked with reimagining the design of the Beachside Hotel. It was first constructed in the 60s and the team chose to honor its heritage by introducing a sophisticated theme that comes together in a cohesive way.
The original white cedar shingle facade is preserved and restored. The co-founder of PLD, Jeremy Levitt speaks about the design concept, noting "The Beachside Hotel is a design-forward, family-friendly lifestyle hotel, appealing to everyone, not just folks with children but it’s very welcoming to them, which is unique for Nantucket. We wanted families, children, and parents to have an equally great experience."
