The top July 2017 commuting concepts include scooters with extra-large tires, theft-proof bike racks and quick-charging electric buses, all of which are helping commuters get from point A to point B—and back—with greater ease, efficiency and sustainability.

Cyclists, drivers and motorcyclists are demanding more from the accessories that they purchase, resulting in the creation of hyper-specific products like gravel guards for bike wheels, responsive helmets, specialized light attachments and even personal pollution masks to be worn on the road.

Small-scale, self-driving commuter pods are becoming more than just futuristic concepts and are being tested with real-world trials. At the University of Michigan, students will soon have the chance to hop onto 15-person autonomous 'Mcity Driverless Shuttles' for a more convenient way to get around the campus than traveling by foot.
