Clothing is naturally the focal point of Fashion Week shows, but these innovative fashion shows prove that presentation is just as important in selling the garments.

There are a number of designers who like to have their garments enhanced by their surroundings, which is seen in collections like Anrealage Fall 2013 that had models step into UV spotlights to reveal a completely different look. A similar approach was taken for the presentation of the Alexander Wang Fall 2014 collection, which had large vents on the runway to change the colors of the heat-activated fashions.

The latest Fashion Weeks around the world have seen plenty of designers and brands push the limits of fashion and technology. This includes Diane von Furstenberg, who offered a livestream of her NYFW show and Topshop Unique’s Fall 2014 collection, which was shared via a virtual reality experience. As well, there’s quite a bit of buzz surrounding model Cara Delevingne, who captured an Instagram video of her runway walk at Giles Deacon during London Fashion Week this year.
