33 Gothic Chic Designs

33 Gothic Chic Designs:

There's a dark fashion movement sweeping the catwalks, but it's nothing to be afraid of; in fact, let the slideshow below enlighten you.

Gothic fashion is high in demand, and to cater to that, ILORI is offering a luxury fix with their "Dark Angels" sunglasses theme.

The ILORI brand represents well known high end labels like Chanel, Lanvin, Bvlgari, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Tag Heuer, Derek Lam, Proenza Schouler, Phillip Lim, Paul Smith, Tom Ford, Badgley Mischka, Emilio Pucci, Tiffany & Co, Etro and Chloe, among many others.

Fall runways included dark elements like the "Victorian Gothic" theme at Alexander McQueen and the use of black lace, silk and nylon by designers like Versace, Rodarte and Commes de Garcons. The Gothic movement has been evidently expressed by numerous designers in their latest international runway collections, as can be seen in the slideshow below.

Throughout the month of September, ILORI will be showcasing spooktacular fashion and accessories which were hand-picked to represent the Gothic-chic movement.

In addition, ILORI is sponsoring "Gothic: Dark Glamour," a book by Museum at FIT Director and Chief Curator Dr. Valerie Steele, which is supplemented by a sensational exhibit. The campaign is supplemented with the tagline, "When Darkness Meets Light, I am revealed."

The timing is perfect for those looking to channel their pre-Halloween Elvira, but fashionistas don't have to be fans of the Corpse Bride movement to enjoy this trend -- after all, black is the most slimming shade, and flatters just about everyone!

Take a look at some of our most recently featured Gothic innovations. The inspiration is evident, from coffin-themed hotels, to spider web accessories and a strong use of black on the runway.
