Since the debut of the iPod Touch, touch-screen surfaces have increasingly become integral features of many mainstream consumer technologies. The iPhone further fueled this obsession, and spurred a huge movement of “iPhone killers” which copied many of its features, but it was the touch-screen that captivated consumers. Samsung has done a fantastic job at capitalizing on this, their touch-screen cell phones being among the most popular non-Apples on the market.
On a more luxurious and futuristic front is the Microsoft surface and other larger touch-screen interfaces.
This cluster highlights some of the touch-screen technologies, from cell phones to coffee tables, getting people excited today. The main image in the gallery is of the HP TouchSmart, a $1,250 computer with a touch-screen interface.
