 Touchscreens and Credit Card Payment Say goodbye to having to pay cab fares by cash only. The NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission has launched a new initiative to install touch-screen monitors in all 13,000 cabs. The monitors being installed will allow riders to “pay by credit card, map out where the cab is going and find information about restaurants and bars.” However, some New York cabbies are objecting to the new technology calling it expensive and intrusive.
 The monitors, already in 200 cabs as an experiment, allow riders to pay by credit card, map out where the cab is going and find information about restaurants and bars.
