For those who grew up reading the classic children's book 'Where the Wild Things Are' over and over again, you'll be delighted to know that today is author Maurice Sendak's 85th birthday.

'Where the Wild Things Are' tells the story of a rambunctious boy named Max who was sent to his bedroom one evening. Dressed in a wolf costume onesie, Max ends up in an fantastical jungle world where he meets the beastly Wild Things. The quirky picture book gained popularity in the 60s and now has sold over 10 million copies worldwide, been turned into an animated short film and even a blockbuster motion picture in 2009.

Today, 'Where the Wild Things Are' continues to inspire fashion, accessories, editorials, games and even food. From literary tattoos to monster snuggling blankets, Maurice Sendak's 'Where the Wild Things Are' is no doubt a children's book classic.
