Lifestyle trends in 2012 ranged from sporty desserts to personified pets and creative wedding proposals. Instead of simply crouching down on one knee and popping the question, partners flexed their creative muscles and put on a show in order to win over their loved one's heart. The result? A slew of zany and viral proposal videos on YouTube.

Foodies saw a rise in food as art as well as popsicle making as a hobby and sports fans saw editorials shadowing their favorite games. Other lifestyle trends included viral YouTube videos of beloved pets and saw the rise of the canine and feline celebrity (i.e. Boo, the world's cutest dog).
