Daniel Mackie creates gorgeous animal illustrations that are colored in with various landscape drawings. This multi-dimensional body of work gives framing a whole new meaning.

The artist’s inclusion of the landscapes within the animal frames is intricately done, which creates a vivid and interesting composition.

Mackie makes great use of symmetry in his paintings. This is especially apparent within the whale, monkey and alligator pieces. He distorts the proportion and form of the animals to fit into an invisible, geometric frame.
