If you are disgusted by human hair, the you’ll find the Colombian artist Zaira Pulido’s art a little bit hairy for your taste. Instead of using thread, Pulido decided to collect her friends’ strands of hair to design a series of embroidered portraits -- the result of is both scary and fascinating.

Pulido’s skills are undeniably good; however, her work will definitely not be everyone’s favorite. Looking at each art piece, it’s hard to tell at first sight that they come from someone’s mane, but once the material is revealed, Pulido’s art gathers a whole new meaning; each piece becomes even more intriguing.

Zaira Pulido is a very original embroiderer who at least makes sure to create each portrait with a very personal touch to each subject.
