Co-Op Insurance recently launched an innovative new smartphone app, called 'Young Driver', that is designed to reward young drivers with significantly hefty discounts on their insurance premium prices in their first year if they are able to prove that they are safe and good drivers.

The app requires users to complete driving a total distance of 200 miles over 10 journeys on separate days, and then goes about calculating a precisely and highly personalized driving score to asses just how safe the individual is on the road. Should a driver qualify thanks to their good driving, they will be offered a discount on their insurance quote.

This app is a smart way to encourage young drivers to follow the rules of the road.
