Waechter Architecture Fuses Rustic Charm with Modern Sensibilities

One of the more contemporary wine tasting rooms is located at the Furioso Vineyards estate in the wine country of northwestern Oregon. Portland-based studio Waechter Architecture was trusted with the task to create a visitor-friendly facility that reflected contemporary movements in design, as well as the valued authentic winery experience.

For the exterior, the firm utilized charred cedar, giving a rich and bold nuance to an existent building that belonged to Furioso Vineyards. Next, the architects embraced the sensibilities of modernity and with an attempt to maximize consumer experience, they conceived of an elegant building that has significant advantages than traditional wine tasting rooms. As the entirety of the structure is wrapped in glass panels, Waechter Architecture is able to use the breathtaking vistas as an incentive for people to visit Furioso Vineyards' sampling space.
