The Wine & Sweets Tsumons Shop is a Concrete Oasis

Japanese architecture studio Casa-Real has designed the Wine & Sweets Tsumons shop and bar.
Being both a baker and sommelier, it was clear that the client had diverse needs. The architects, lead by Japanese designer Koichi Futatsumata, created the combined patisserie and wine bar in Fukuoka, Japan.
The client specifically requested that the building be limited to a single storey, despite the fact that it's surrounded by high-rise buildings on either side. The architects explain,"We aimed at providing architecture which has an earnest and dignified sight, contrasting with the bustle of the city." The finished product, which measures 65-square-meters, is equipped with a shop in the front, kitchen in the back and bar sandwiched between them. The architects arranged the space so that it is filled with an immense serenity, setting it apart from the busy streets outside.
