Boxed, an online club that fancies itself to be the "Costco for Millennials," recently updated its iOS wholesale shopping app to include a chatbot, group ordering and augmented reality shopping features.
As much as buying in bulk tends to be more economical, it requires consumers to have adequate home storage for the products they purchase. With this in mind, the new AR feature from Boxed is designed to give shoppers a preview of the size of bulk items before they commit to a purchase.
To give consumers a better idea of what size of boxes they will be stocking their pantry with, the initiative from Box is being introduced with 30 products. In the future, Boxed may expand upon this depending on the response from urban Millennial families.
