The mask incorporates a design that will prevent you from breathing in harmful smoke, while also turning your exhaled breaths into calls for help. This is achieved by strategically placing a whistle into the mask that will alert emergency workers of your location with you having to remove the mask to call out.
The conceptual Whistle Mask is the design work of Junkai Huang, Tengbin Li, Weilun Lyu, Xinxin Lyu and Xiang Liu, and identifies the need for more advanced emergency equipment in the modern era.
