Design company West of West has put together a surfboard for the Architecture and Design Museum of Los Angeles, with speed in mind. The board is different than most conventional designs, with the backend looking more like a sharks fin.
For the traditional surfers this board could be too modern for their liking, as it looks like it's not even fully built being half the size of an original design. The team worked hard to come up with a look that was both forward-thinking as well as practical, and the result certainly paid off. The additional ridges and curves of the board are meant to help surfers to catch waves with more ease, and also gain more momentum when flying along the surface. Hopefully this look will catch on soon. Photo Credits: designboom, westofwest
