American fast food chain Red Robin will introduce the Wedgie burger to their menu for a limited time as a healthier option. The 450-calorie burger will be a patty inside a wedge of lettuce and will be available at the fast food chain until February 7, 2016.
The Wedgie Burger will feature a six-ounce beef patty, tomato, bacon, guacamole and red onions on a "bun" made of lettuce. For the combo option, the Wedgie Burger is served with a side salad by default rather than the usual side of bottomless fries.
The Wedgie Burger is a great example of fast food chains working to modernize their menu in order to appeal to health conscious consumers and win over discerning millennials.
