In light of the unpredictable spring weather, McDonald's implemented a billboard that relays the weather conditions with food symbols instead of the typical icons.
The fast food chain partnered with Leo Burnett to replace the eight typical weather icons like rainy and sunny with food-related symbols. For example, the icon that typically denotes partly cloudy has been replaced with a wrapper that's partly covering the cheese burger. Meanwhile, a Big Mac represents the sun, a coffee with steam represents a cloudy day and falling french fries take the place of the rain icon.
The clever billboard uses real-time weather updates to relay these messages, reminding consumers that while the weather may be unreliable, McDonald's is not.
