Wearable Parkinson's Monitoring Devices

Empatica Launches WellPD for At-Home Symptom Tracking

Empatica has introduced wearable Parkinson's monitoring devices with WellPD, an FDA-cleared and CE-marked system designed to track symptoms outside medical appointments. Combining a wrist-worn sensor with a companion app, the device helps patients understand daily changes without relying entirely on memory or handwritten records.

WellPD monitors tremors, involuntary movements, slowed movement, sleep, and physical activity. Clinically validated algorithms convert collected signals into daily summaries, allowing users to identify patterns surrounding medication doses. The technology builds on Empatica's acquisition of PKG Health in 2025, incorporating expertise already used across more than 150 hospitals and clinical sites worldwide.

For Empatica, the launch expands its wearable technology into home-based Parkinson's management across multiple international markets. Healthcare professionals gain additional information between appointments, while patients and caregivers can better understand symptom fluctuations and support more informed treatment discussions.
