Madrid-based practice Mayice Studio creates a wavy lamp with a single piece of curving glass. The intention is to exhibit the relationship between material and light. In particular, the firm sought out to display how "light travels through concave and convex forms."
When on, the sculptural wavy lamp boasts an elegantly tiny laser-like filament. Even when it is not fulfilling its functional purposes, the Mayice Studio's product can act as a "stand-alone [...] ornamental centerpiece."
In addition to the undulating glass, the wavy lamp's inherent transparency as a property sparks an indefinite interest within the structure and inner workings of the piece. Mayice Studio's lamp debuted at Spazio Rossana Orlandi during Milan Design Week.
