Water sterilization is hampered in developing countries by contaminated containers and insufficient water transportation systems. The 'PackH2O,' designed by Greif Inc. provides a solution to both of these issues simultaneously.
Unlike many containers that are used to carry water, the lining inside of the PackH2O is removable and what makes its design truly amazing is that by being placed out to dry in the sun, the lining can be completely sanitized before its next use.
Organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Parters for Care have already given out over 100,000 of the ergonomic, adjustable backpacks to developing countries in need. For its contributions to helping people access clean water, the PackH2O was named the recipient of the 2013 People's Design Award.
