The Volvo Autonomous Solutions Group Will Operate in 2020

Volvo has launched a new business that will only focus on autonomous applications for industrial and commercial transportation, the new group is titled Volvo Autonomous Solutions. The group will have a mandate that will attempt to foster the development and commercial implementation of autonomous transportation.

The company created the Volvo Autonomous Solutions group due to the increasing demand for autonomous technology. The group will not be operational until January 2020, and Volvo is currently looking for someone to be the head of the new group.

The need for commercial autonomous vehicles differs from the larger demand for autonomous technology. This is due to the fact that commercial routes are fixed and almost always repetitive, where urban autonomous transportation has more unpredictability.
