Volvo Group is Opening a Battery Production Facility for Electric Trucks

Volvo Group announced that it is pursuing fossil-free battery production by opening a new dedicated facility in Skaraborg, Sweden. At this facility, Volvo Group will work with its partners to produce a large number of EV batteries for use on commercial vehicles, such as larger trucks. These batteries will be produced via a fossil fuel-free method, meaning both the production and usage of these batteries are eco-friendly. Volvo Group did not specify who its partners are in this venture at this time.

The CEO of Volvo Group, Martin Lundstedt, stated that: "There is a strong demand from our customers already today, and by 2030, it is our ambition that at least 35% of the products we sell are electric," showing that the company is addressing consumer demand while simultaneously pushing toward a sustainable future.
