Volta's Prototype Truck is Designed For Sustainable Hauling

— April 13, 2023 — Autos
Volta Trucks, a startup that made waves a few years ago when it began to showcase plans for an electric truck, has announced the advent of the 'Class 7 Volta Zero,' a prototype of an all-electric medium-duty truck that is set to be tested in the U.S. market in the near future.

This medium-duty truck comes equipped with a battery that is capable of offering up to 125 miles of operation per a full charge. Contrary to conventional vehicles that most people are used to, the 'Class 7 Volta Zero' will see drivers seated in the middle of the cabin and treated to an extra-wide field of view.

Essa Al-Saleh, CEO of Volta Trucks, says that it is hoped that this all-electric truck will help contribute to more eco-friendly roads. "The US faces the same safety and sustainability issues we are addressing in Europe and is a significant market opportunity for us," Al-Saleh said. "This marks the start of our journey in the US, and we are excited to bring road-certified vehicles for US customers to evaluate later this year."
