Pitting a powerful car engine against 280 toy monkeys sounds bizarre, but when this Volkswagen ad did it, the results were epic and almost operatic in the creative flair and climatic magnitude.
Highlighting the strength of the new SEAT Leon CUPRA with its powerful 280 hp dual injection TSI engine, the Volkswagen ad shows us what would happen to battery-operated monkeys if you were to connect the two together: a complete and utter meltdown. Why would they want to show us this witty but odd scene? To highlight the fact that “only a Cupra can handle the engine of a Cupra.”
The suspense-ridden ad with an engineer teasing us as he presses down to rev up the engine keeps pushing it all the way down until the poor little monkeys start bursting into flames. Harsh, but very powerful.
