Richard Branson's SpaceShipTwo (aka VSS Enterprise) completed the first ever manned free flight of space for what will be Earth's first space tourism provider. The flight test focus was to test if pilots in SpaceShipTwo could successfully detach from the mothership after being rocketed into the upper atmosphere.
This new space tourism was conceived by Branson in 2004, and appears to be nearing launch for the consumer market. But start saving now, with flights priced at $200,000 a seat, space tourism is not destination you can travel to spur of the moment.
