Geek meets chic in this 1980s Super Mario video game-themed apartment, located in Meguro, Tokyo. The apartment is part of Airbnb, which means tourist and travelers can spend some quality time inside the real Super Mario world.
The two bedroom apartment, including one magical Princess Peach bedroom and a video games console, is covered from floor to ceiling in all things Super Mario. There are question mark block lamps and tissue holders, as well as projectile flowers, cute toadstools and 1-ups. The kitchen is fully decked out with a mushroom table and Nintendo-inspired cutlery, cups and plates.
Much of the nostalgic items were purchased, but others, like the tchotchkes, were crafted and hand painted by the apartment's owner, Parker. Every piece of the apartment was carefully selected and placed to transport visitors through a surreal, polka dot-infused, whimsical journey into Super Mario World.
