Instagram users who are looking to position themselves as legitimate figures on the hugely popular photo-sharing app now have the opportunity to submit a verification application, giving them that coveted blue check mark.
At the moment, the applications are only available to iPhone users who are based in Australia, however the company has plans to expand it to Android shortly too. If the system proves successful, it's likely that Instagram will offer the applications to users in more areas, however the specifics regarding which ones have not yet been released.
To apply for the verification mark, users simply have to go into their Settings menu and click the 'Request Verification' option, after which point they'll be prompted to enter their information.
