As of the next month, dating app Hinge is rolling out a new profile verification process that is meant to combat the rise of fake accounts with Selfie Verification. The feature prompts users to upload a video of themselves within the app to verify that they are who they say they are.
The app uses a blend of machine learning along with human oversight to confirm that the person is rightfully who they present themselves to be.
