As part of a collaboration with Land Rover, designer Victor Castanera was asked to create an object inspired by the Range Rover Velar. The finished result is the 'Velar' lounge chair, which takes cues from the car's proportions and notably the "duality of dimensions and shapes that Velar has between the body and the cabin of the car."
Although the all-black chair might seem to be sculpted from one material, the seat of the chair is actually made of solid ash wood, while its back features a thinner veneer.
Many automotive brands are now branching out with unconventional artist and designer collaborations that feature everything from bicycles to handbags that draw similarities to certain well-designed vehicles.
