Vegan Leather Iconic Chairs

Herman Miller Presents it Lounge Chairs with a Vegan Construction

Herman Miller shines a spotlight on some of its most iconic silhouettes including the Eames Lounge chair with a new twist of a vegan construction. The brand is known for its premium materials and timeless design as the pieces have adorned elevated homes and offices throughout the years. It is now unveiling a new upholstery with a plant-based build for the chair in the form of bamboo leather.

This material marks a milestone for Herman Miller as it breaches into more sustainable alternatives. The chairs are made from bamboo which is a renewable material that consumes less water and it ensures a lower carbon footprint when compared to traditional animal hide. To create the material it starts by breaking down the bamboo into pulp to extract natural fibers and then weaving it into a fabric.
