Trader Joe's New Vegan Buttery Spread is a Rich & Dairy-Free Alternative

— January 8, 2022 — Lifestyle
Trader Joe's is yet again expanding its range of plant-based products with the launch of its new Vegan Buttery Spread.

Just as the name suggests, Trader Joe's new Vegan Buttery Spread is a plant-based alternative to butter. To achieve that rich taste and spreadable texture, Trader Joe's worked with a supplier in Germany. The supplier uses sunflower, coconut, and canola oil, mixed with a bit of shea butter, fava bean protein, and salt to achieve a distinctively buttery flavor.

However, the best feature of the new Vegan Buttery Spread is that it can be used as a 1:1 replacement for traditional dairy-based butter in just about any recipe. As Trader Joe's explains, "It melts like a dream, spreads beautifully over bread, and helps create moist and delicious (not to mention perfectly plant- based) baked goods."
