Ahead of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, Ralph Lauren designed the new Team USA Olympic jacket to be able to stand up to the cold at the chilly heights of South Korean mountaintops. Not only are the jackets thick and durable, but they're infused with heat-conducting ink that keeps the athletes warm even if the material itself might be lacking.

Stylistically, the Team USA Olympic Jackets and other Olympic apparel from Ralph Lauren take after classic design tropes of American cold weather wear. The line, which will be worn during the opening and closing ceremonies, includes brown suede gloves, wool sweaters, and knitted toques. However, the tech behind the jackets is what really stands out. The ink in the heated jackets functions similarly to a heated blanket, conducting heat through resistance while keeping the jacket lightweight.
