It's crazy to think that Unwrapped by Sam Kaplan, a commercial photographer, is made out of sticks of chewing gum. Hundreds of this unorthodox material crisscross on top of each other to create stunning architectural sculptures that looks as though they belong both in art galleries and out in the real world. That or they were digitally manipulated, which wasn't the case at all.
Unwrapped by Sam Kaplan was inspired by futurist and Mayan architecture. As for choosing his material, Kaplan shares, "I wanted to find a material that could be both repeatable and remain uniform. I also wanted a high level of malleability and after a lot of trial and error I landed on gum."
