Fiberglass Fauna Displays

The United Buddy Bears Line the Bottom of the Eiffel Tower

The United Buddy Bears will line the bottom of the Eiffel Tower between now and November 18th. The life-sized fiberglass installations celebrate the dual anniversaries of Paris and Berlin as well as the 50th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty.

The 6 foot tall United Buddy Bears each represent different members of the United Nations. The detailing stems from the work of various artists who each represent their home countries via the lofty sculptures.

The inviting smiles that are plastered along the faces of these animals are symbolic. The placement of the statues stands for harmony, tolerance and acceptance between the territories despite their geographic separation. This brave project first began in Berlin in 2002 and has since been displayed within 25 countries from around the globe.
