The feature will enable users to easily select the pet option when ordering a ride, which will eliminate the need to contact the driver afterwards to ask if they accept pets or not. The Uber Pet feature will cost riders an additional $3 to $5 because of the potential need to clean out pet hair after the passenger has been dropped off.
The pet-friendly feature will launch in the US on October 16 in select cities including Phoenix, Tampa Bay and Denver, amongst others.
